I am so excited to finally share Motherhook Fiber & Co.'s very first yarn Advent calendar with you!

Through Rose-Colored Glasses is a collection inspired by the memories we hold close, the beautiful messiness of right now, and all the wonderful things still waiting for us.

Twelve days of hand-dyed yarn, thoughtfully curated to tell one little story. Because sometimes the most beautiful things in life aren't the perfect moments, but the ones we almost missed. 

A Little Story in Three Chapters

Our Advent will unfold over 12 days, with each colorway representing a little piece of the story.

Chapter 01 | The Way It Was — Days 1–4

A little nostalgia, warm memories, and those moments we'd give anything to visit just one more time.

Chapter 02 | The Beautiful In-Between — Days 5–8

For the messy, imperfect, ordinary moments that turn out to be pretty beautiful after all.

Chapter 03 | All That's Still to Come — Days 9–12

For the daydreams, the possibilities, and all the wonderful things we haven't experienced yet.

Each chapter has its own color story, but all 12 colorways are being designed to work beautifully together.

What's Inside?

Every Advent includes 12 exclusive hand-dyed colorways on our 100% superwash merino wool, worsted-weight (4) yarn.

Choose between two sizes:

The Mini Advent

• Days 1–11: Eleven 20g mini skeins
• Day 12: One full 100g skein
• Total yarn: 320g
• Approximate yardage: 698 yards

The Midi Advent

• Days 1–11: Eleven 50g mini skeins
• Day 12: One full 100g skein
• Total yarn: 650g
• Approximate yardage: 1, 417 yards

And yes, BOTH sizes include a full 100g skein for the grand finale! 💗

Let's Talk Colors!

I know ordering mystery yarn can feel like a bit of a leap, so I wanted to give y'all a peek at what I'm dreaming up!

The inspiration palette features 12 shades, from soft peaches and warm corals to dreamy lavenders, dusty blues, romantic mauves, and rich berry tones.

The actual skeins will remain a surprise! Some may be tonal, some speckled, and others more variegated. The inspiration swatches are a guide to the overall palette, not an exact representation of the finished yarn.

What I can promise is that every colorway will be thoughtfully designed with the others in mind.

And while this is an Advent calendar, the colors are not Christmas-specific! I wanted to create yarn you could enjoy making with and wearing all year long.

What Can I Make With My Advent Yarn?

So many things!

Whether you're dreaming of a scarf, shawl, blanket, or something entirely different, I can't wait to see what you create.

There won't be an included crochet or knitting pattern this year, but I'm putting together a list of patterns from some wonderful designers that I think would work beautifully with the yarn and yardage included in each Advent.

I'll also be unwrapping the colorways alongside y'all and sharing some project inspiration along the way!

Important Dates & Shipping

Preorders open: October 26, 2026

Preorders close: November 2, 2026, or sooner if all available spots are filled.

Expected shipping: The last week of November 2026.

My goal is to have your Advent arrive in time for December 1, but delivery dates cannot be guaranteed once packages are in the hands of the shipping carrier.

Because these are hand-dyed in small batches and made especially for this collection, quantities are limited.

• Each Advent contains 12 individually packaged yarn surprises.
• All yarn is 100% superwash merino wool, worsted weight (4).
• Yardage is approximate.
• The 12 colorways are exclusive to this Advent collection.
• Colorways are a surprise, and the inspiration palette is not a guarantee of exact finished shades.
• Hand-dyed yarn is unique! Slight variations between skeins are part of what makes each one special.
• Deluxe calendars contain four mystery extras; Classic calendars contain yarn only.
• No pattern is included.

This is my very first yarn Advent calendar, and I can't even begin to tell y'all how much it means to finally bring this idea to life.

I've poured so much thought into the story, the colors, and the little experience of opening something made just for you.
