About the Colorway: Cake for Breakfast
Cake for Breakfast was inspired by the belief that joy doesn't need a special occasion. Soft, sweet, and a little playful, this colorway captures the feeling of sunshine through kitchen curtains, frosting on your fingertips, and choosing delight simply because you can.
It's a love letter to celebrating the everyday—the quiet moments, the small wins, and the reminder that softness, happiness, and beauty are worthy all on their own.
This colorway celebrates choosing joy first: embracing whimsy, making room for delight, and giving yourself permission to savor life's sweetest moments.
It features a thoughtfully layered blend of:
- buttery apricot and peach sorbet
- soft blush pink and creamy highlights
- gentle tonal transitions that create movement and warmth
The colors melt into one another across the skein, creating an airy, dreamy flow reminiscent of birthday cake frosting, sherbet skies, and golden summer mornings. The overall effect is cheerful yet gentle—like making a wish, blowing out the candles, and realizing there was never a rule saying you had to wait for a special occasion to celebrate.
Each skein is dyed slowly by hand, allowing the colors to develop naturally and uniquely. No two skeins are exactly alike, and that variation is part of their beauty.

Hand-Dyed with Care
All Motherhook Fiber & Co. yarn is hand-dyed in small batches in the Pacific Northwest.
Because of this process, natural variation between skeins is expected and celebrated. No two skeins are exactly alike—that’s part of what makes handmade yarn special.
✨ For larger projects, we strongly recommend ordering enough yarn to complete your project in one purchase to ensure the best color consistency.
